How It Works
Technical view
The active ring mod path multiplies left and right channels by separate sine carriers whose frequencies are set from `rate`, then blends that result back with the dry stereo preview source through `mix`. The declared `depth` and `tone` controls are unused in the current preview, so the audible variation comes from carrier frequency and wet amount rather than additional filtering or modulation depth.

Preview source

Effect core
Stereo carrier-multiplication ring modulator.
Signal path
The static waveform and the live player both reflect this compiled signal chain.
- internal picked-string demo phrase
- stereo spread with a short right-channel delay
- left and right carrier multiplication
- dry / wet mix
- DC blocker
- output gain trim
- final tanh limiter
Controls that matter
These are the currently active controls detected in the FAUST source for this effect.
- mix: Blends the untouched stereo preview source with the processed path after the modulation core.
- output_gain_db: Applies final post-effect level trim after DC blocking and before the output limiter.
- depth: Declared in the shared control set but unused in the current preview code.
- rate: Sets the frequencies of the left and right carrier oscillators used for multiplication.
- tone: Declared in the shared control set but unused in the current preview code.

Controls
Audible controls in this DSP
Blends the untouched stereo preview source with the processed path after the modulation core.
Lower settings keep more direct attack and body; higher settings push the effected motion further forward.
Applies final post-effect level trim after DC blocking and before the output limiter.
Matches loudness without changing the actual modulation or filtering structure.
Declared in the shared control set but unused in the current preview code.
Changing it currently has no effect on the sound.
Sets the frequencies of the left and right carrier oscillators used for multiplication.
Moves the sideband content from slow tremolo-like beating into metallic inharmonic ringing.
Declared in the shared control set but unused in the current preview code.
Changing it currently has no effect on the sound.
