How It Works
Technical view
The current `Pitch Filter` still uses one separately synthesized auxiliary phrase rather than live pitch tracking of the dry source. Its left synthetic branch runs through a band-pass filter whose center rises with `voice`, while the right synthetic branch keeps the usual high-shelf shaping tied to `width`, and the result is blended against the dry phrase with `mix`.

Compiled preview chain
Preview source: An internally generated picked-string phrase is widened to stereo as the dry source; the current pitch family mostly layers separately synthesized picked-string phrases over that demo rather than pitch-shifting the dry input in real time.

Effect core
Dry phrase plus one separately synthesized pitch layer, with left band-pass filtering and right high-shelf shaping.
Signal path
The static waveform and the live player both reflect this compiled signal chain.
- internal picked-string demo phrase
- stereo spread with a short right-channel delay
- separately synthesized auxiliary pitch phrase
- left band-pass filtering of the synthetic layer
- right high-shelf shaping on the synthetic layer
- dry / synthetic blend
- DC blocker
- output gain trim
- final tanh limiter
Controls that matter
These are the currently active controls detected in the FAUST source for this effect.
- mix: Blends between the dry stereo preview phrase and the synthesized filtered pitch layer.
- output_gain_db: Applies final post-effect level trim after DC blocking and before the output limiter.
- voice: Raises the level of the synthesized pitch layer and also moves the center of the left-channel band-pass filter upward.
- width: Adjusts the high-shelf shaping on the right synthesized branch.
- blend: Declared in the shared control set but unused in the current preview code.

Controls
Audible controls in this DSP
Blends between the dry stereo preview phrase and the synthesized filtered pitch layer.
Lower settings stay closer to the direct phrase; higher settings emphasize the filtered synthetic layer.
Applies final post-effect level trim after DC blocking and before the output limiter.
Matches loudness without changing the actual pitch-layer structure.
Raises the level of the synthesized pitch layer and also moves the center of the left-channel band-pass filter upward.
Makes the effect stronger and shifts the filtered voice toward a brighter, higher focus.
Adjusts the high-shelf shaping on the right synthesized branch.
Makes the right-side synthetic layer darker at low settings and brighter at high settings.
Declared in the shared control set but unused in the current preview code.
Changing it currently has no effect on the sound.
Analysis
Code-derived notes
Current implementation still uses a fixed auxiliary pitch phrase rather than tracking the live input, and the declared blend control is inactive.
