How It Works
Technical view
The current EQ path is compact and static: it applies a low shelf first, then a single peaking filter whose center frequency moves with `tone`, and then a high shelf. `shape` sets the amount of mid boost or cut, while `contour` controls the low shelf, so this behaves like a streamlined three-band EQ rather than a multi-node parametric section.

Preview source

Effect core
Static low shelf, single sweepable mid peak, and high shelf in series.
Signal path
The static waveform and the live player both reflect this compiled signal chain.
- internal picked-string demo phrase
- stereo spread with a short right-channel delay
- low-shelf shaping
- single sweepable mid peak stage
- high-shelf shaping
- dry / wet mix
- DC blocker
- output gain trim
- final tanh limiter
Controls that matter
These are the currently active controls detected in the FAUST source for this effect.
- mix: Blends the untouched stereo preview source with the processed path after the core effect.
- output_gain_db: Applies final post-effect level trim after DC blocking and before the output limiter.
- shape: Adjusts the gain of the single peaking EQ stage.
- tone: Moves the peaking EQ center upward while also adjusting the final high shelf.
- contour: Adjusts the low-shelf gain.

Controls
Audible controls in this DSP
Blends the untouched stereo preview source with the processed path after the core effect.
Lower settings keep more dry attack and natural dynamics; higher settings push the processed behavior forward.
Applies final post-effect level trim after DC blocking and before the output limiter.
Matches loudness without changing the actual dynamic or EQ structure.
Adjusts the gain of the single peaking EQ stage.
Cuts or boosts the central mid band around the sweepable focus frequency.
Moves the peaking EQ center upward while also adjusting the final high shelf.
Shifts the focus from lower mids toward upper mids and adds or removes top-end brightness.
Adjusts the low-shelf gain.
Adds warmth and low-end weight or trims bass out.

Code-derived notes
Current implementation shares the same three-band static EQ core as Dynamic EQ, 6-Band EQ, 10-Band EQ, Tilt EQ, and Mid/Side EQ.
