How It Works
Technical view
The current expanded-space reverb family uses the same four-comb, two-diffuser base core as the plate family, then adds one more trailing diffuser stage to spread the late tail further. `space` and `decay` affect both the base core and that added diffuser, while `tone` brightens the underlying wash.

Effect core
Diffuse comb-and-diffuser reverb with one added trailing diffuser stage.
Signal path
The static waveform and the live player both reflect this compiled signal chain.
- internal picked-string demo phrase
- stereo spread with a short right-channel delay
- four parallel damped comb stages
- two serial diffuser stages
- post-reverb high-shelf shaping
- additional trailing diffuser stage
- dry / wet blend
- DC blocker
- output gain trim
- final tanh limiter
Controls that matter
These are the currently active controls detected in the FAUST source for this effect.
- mix: Blends between the dry source and the wet reverb field after the reverb core.
- output_gain_db: Applies final post-effect level trim after DC blocking and before the output limiter.
- space: Expands the base comb-and-diffuser lengths and also lengthens the added final diffuser stage.
- decay: Raises the comb feedback coefficients and the recirculation of the added diffuser stage.
- tone: Raises the damping cutoffs inside the base core and keeps more top end through the final wash.

Controls
Audible controls in this DSP
Blends between the dry source and the wet reverb field after the reverb core.
Lower settings stay more direct; higher settings move the patch further into the ambient tail.
Applies final post-effect level trim after DC blocking and before the output limiter.
Matches loudness without changing the actual reverb structure.
Expands the base comb-and-diffuser lengths and also lengthens the added final diffuser stage.
Moves the ambience from a broad room toward a more stretched, floating hall tail.
Raises the comb feedback coefficients and the recirculation of the added diffuser stage.
Extends the bloom and makes the late tail feel denser.
Raises the damping cutoffs inside the base core and keeps more top end through the final wash.
Makes the hall tail darker at low settings and clearer at high settings.
